JOB TITLE: Snack Bar Cook

LOCATION: Westchester Country Club, Rye, New York

DEPARTMENT: Beach Club – Food & Beverage

COMPENSATION: Non-Exempt (overtime eligible), hourly compensation, $16.00-$22.55/hour commensurate with experience

Please note: Per New York State law, in order to be legally authorized for employment, all Minors must obtain and provide their Student General Employment Certificate (Working Papers) prior to beginning their first day of employment and to be kept on file for the duration of their employment. 

 

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for preparing food items required for Snack Bar and Beach venues, as well as for all Beach operation outlets for lunch and dinner service.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Collect food and beverage products and small wares required for item preparation

- Prepare food items according to standard recipes

- Handle leftover food items as instructed by Beach Club Chef

- Return soiled food preparation utensils and small ware items to proper areas

- Assure cleanliness and sanitation of all Snack Bar/Ice Cream Shop/preparation/serving equipment at all times

- Assure cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned work stations at all times

- Consistently utilize safe and sanitary food handling practices

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

- Provide excellent service to Members and Guests

- Ability to follow standard recipes

- Adhere to all WCC guidelines, policies and procedures

- Carry out all reasonable requests made by Beach Club Chef and Food & Beverage Director

- Availability to work a flexible schedule throughout summer season, including weekends and holidays

 

JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

The following describes the general qualifications and physical, sensory and mental abilities normally associated with performing the essential functions of this position. 

 

EDUCATION & SKILLS:

- Previous experience working as a line cook preferred, but not required

- Up to date Food Handlers / Sanitation License preferred OR clear understanding and commitment to impeccable Sanitation practices

- Minimum age requirement: 16 per NYS Department of Labor Minor Law guidelines

 

PHYSICAL, SENSORY, AND MOTOR DEMANDS:

- Able to move quickly and multitask in a high stress/high pressure environment (Heat and Action)

- Frequent Standing for extended periods of time

- Frequent Walking to collect or deliver goods in various kitchens or reception areas

- Regular lifting - Excellent physical fitness, visual acuity and sense of smell to work in Kitchen safely
