Seasonal Position
JOB TITLE: Beach Attendant
LOCATION: Westchester Country Club, Rye, New York
DEPARTMENT: Beach Club - Aquatics
COMPENSATION: Non-Exempt (overtime eligible), $15.00-$16.00 per hour commensurate with experience
Please note: Per New York State law, in order to be legally authorized for employment, all Minors must obtain and provide their Student General Employment Certificate (Working Papers) prior to beginning their first day of employment and to be kept on file for the duration of their employment.
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for the set-up, break down, and maintenance of the beachfront area, assuring all Member and Guest needs are met. This position will report to the Aquatics Supervisors and Aquatics Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Be readily available to assist Members with beach chair and umbrella setup on the beach
- Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of beach area, including wiping down furniture on a regular basis and sweeping steps leading to beach area
- Ensure all beach equipment is in safe and working order, assuring no broken equipment is used, and reporting any damage to supervisor and/or Maintenance Staff
- Keep all floats and safety lines clean and free of debris
- Collect and report any lost items, ensuring they are turned in at proper location
- Be prepared to assist Lifeguards in any emergency situation
- Maintain surveillance of patrons on the Beach; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency (example: Umbrella flies become unattached and fly away)
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

- Adhere to all WCC guidelines, policies and procedures
- Carry out all reasonable requests made by Aquatics Supervisors and/or Aquatics Director
- Availability to work a flexible schedule throughout summer season, including weekends and holidays
JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
The following describes the general qualifications and physical, sensory and mental abilities normally associated with performing the essential functions of this position.
EDUCATION & SKILLS:
- Minimum age requirement is 15 to meet NYS Minor Law Guidelines
- Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures is a plus
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
- Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to carry/move objects up to 30-50 lbs.
