Housekeeping Attendant


2-3 years prior Housekeeping experience for a commercial building or private houses required. Club or Hotel experience preferred.


Overall Cleaning and upkeep of member apartments and Westchester Country Club public areas (both indoors and outdoors) to housekeeping team standards, in order to ensure a pleasurable experience for our residing and visiting members.  


Ability to maintain clean appearance of Westchester Country Club Public areas at all times by vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms, using appropriate tools and following appropriate sanitation techniques

Ability to strip, buff and wax floors, with little to no supervision.

Ability to use shampooing machines, for deep carpet cleaning

Ability to use appropriate chemicals and apply as needed to various areas based on directions given by Supervisor (with respect to OSHA guidelines)

Excellent communication skills with members and supervisors to complete requested assignments in an effective and timely manner

Ability to lift, carry and move linen, trash, furniture per business needs

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors per WCC business needs

Unexpired drivers license and ability to drive Golf Cart to gain access to various locations on the Golf course and WCC grounds that receive housekeeping services (Field House, Squash Facility ..)


Linen Duties: Responsible for supplying linen, terry and room amenities to all room attendant closets, collect soiled linen and bring to Laundry Room

Trash Duties: Responsible for collecting trash from various locations and dispose in Dumpster outside of Security Office

General Cleaning Duties: Responsible for cleaning and maintaining good general appearance of all floors, carpets, corridors, furniture, walls, baseboards, ceiling fixtures and moldings by using appropriate tools (vacuum, buffer, shampooing machine,…) and chemicals in all areas assigned.

Storage areas: Responsible for helping maintain appropriate inventory levels in various storage areas by placing products and amenities as needed or assigned

Public Bathrooms: Responsible for ensuring proper sanitation of bathrooms on a regular basis

Furniture: Responsible for lifting and moving furniture per member and supervisor requests

Apartments and Transient Rooms: Responsible for general cleaning, high dusting, cleaning bathrooms, making beds and other housekeeping assignments as needed.

Outdoors: Responsible for cleaning front entrance, terraces, windows and other housekeeping duties and needed.

Spring, Fall Cleaning duties: Responsible for flipping mattresses, changing filters, and other general cleaning duties as assigned. 

Conversational English. English Literacy – at a minimum basic reading and writing skills to ensure proper communication with members and supervisors.  

Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to help out and anticipate member and other department needs

Trained in proper chemical handling and Blood Borne Pathogens handling techniques desirable.

Physical work requirements: Ability to lift, bend, carry, move heavy furniture, folding beds, TVs, Refrigerators Exerting up to 100 Pounds of force occasionally, and/ or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
