POSITION: Men’s Locker Room Attendant
LOCATION: Westchester Country Club | Rye, NY
DEPARTMENT: Main Club
COMPENSATION: $15.00-$16.00/hour commensurate with experience, Non-Exempt (Overtime eligible), Benefits per Union 32BJ
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Men’s Locker Room Attendant position is responsible for the overall cleaning and upkeep of the Men’s Locker Room in order to ensure a pleasurable experience for our Members and Guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Works to efficiently maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the facility while providing outstanding Member service
- Continually clean and detail Locker Room areas throughout hours of operation
- Continually perform facility “walk throughs” to ensure tidiness and cleanliness in all spaces
- Clean Bathroom, Sauna and Showers to Westchester Country Club standards, using proper cleaning supplies
- Maintain friendly and professional attitude with Members and Guests at all times, being ready to assist when needed
- Monitor supply levels in all areas, replenishing when needed
- Manage locker room hampers, emptying and requesting pick up as needed
- Answer phone and take messages for Members
- Manage Member lockers, including cleaning and assigning lockers, and opening locker doors when needed
- Manage the set up and replenishment of member amenities, including coffee area and continental breakfast when provided
- Assist Members with all requests
- Execute special projects when needed

- Highly responsible and well-organized in tending to Men’s Locker Room area and Member needs

- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Able to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
The following describes the general qualifications and physical, sensory and mental abilities normally associated with performing the essential functions of this position.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous Locker Room experience in Country Clubs preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Trained in proper chemical handling and Blood Borne Pathogens handling techniques desirable
- Conversational English. English Literacy – at a minimum basic reading and writing skills to ensure proper communication with members, guests and supervisors
- Bilingual is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to help out and anticipate member and other department needs
PHYSICAL, SENSORY AND MOTOR DEMANDS:
- Able to bend and lift 20 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. frequently
- Must be able to walk, bend, reach, stretch, and use repetitive arm and leg motions for duration of shift
